Most modern kitchen cabinets use adjustable European (concealed) hinges. A screwdriver and a few minutes fix doors that don't line up.

Adjusting concealed hinges

  • Side-to-side screw (usually the one closest to the door edge): moves the door left or right to even out gaps
  • Depth screw: moves the door in or out from the cabinet
  • Height: loosen the mounting screws, slide the door up or down, then tighten
  • Make small quarter turns and check after each one

New knobs and pulls

  1. Measure the hole spacing of the old pulls (center to center) to buy pulls that fit the existing holes
  2. For new holes, make a simple template from cardboard or scrap wood so every door matches
  3. Put painter's tape where you'll drill to reduce splintering
  4. Drill straight through from the front, then attach the hardware from the inside
